Description
This is a painting of my first husband and I and how I felt vulnerable and pensive and scared during the time he was in Viet Nam. (I felt like when your a little kid and they did the air-raid drills and you would get under the desk with your arms over your head to protect yourself).
When Johnny was in the most serious situation of his life, he constantly stratigizing so he would survive.
He would write me letters and I would read them over and over till the next one came. My only thought was him and would he come home. I felt like a ballerina turning pirouettes round and round dizzy in a vortex of worry and fears clinging to these letters as this was our only way to communicate during this year while he was in Viet Nam in the 60's and 70's. It's funny how words written on paper can mean everything then one morning words on a paper from a commanding officer delivered by a Taxi driver are the bane of your existence and the real turmoil begins.
